- Keep your original format (SRT, VTT, ASS, etc.) when you download
All editing happens in your browser. Your file is not stored on our servers.
Step-by-step: using the subtitle editor
Open the Subtitle Editor
Go to our Subtitle Editor page. No signup or login required.
Upload your subtitle file
Drag and drop your .srt, .vtt, .ass, or other supported file, or click to browse. The editor will load all lines with their timestamps and text.
Edit text and timing
Each line shows sequence number, start time, end time, and text. Click the time or text fields to edit. Use the format 00:00:01,500 for times (hours:minutes:seconds, milliseconds).
Download your edited file
When you’re done, download the file. It keeps the same format you uploaded (SRT, VTT, etc.).
Tips
- End time should be after start time; keep a small gap (e.g. 0.2–0.5 s) between consecutive subtitles for readability.
- For big timing shifts on the whole file, use our Subtitle Sync tool first, then fine-tune individual lines in the editor.
- Save a copy of your original file before making large edits.
